CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is a member of the Intraspect Group Executive Management Team (EMT). Primary responsibilities include strong operational and financial management leadership of the company’s daily accounting activities, real estate acquisitions and lending activities. You will work cooperatively with CEO and EMT to create and implement organization-wide strategic plans and business plans; update and monitor policies and procedures; manage staff performance and productivity to include performance evaluations; and coordinate agency operations.
Other duties include the overall fiscal management of the organization's budget and accounting, including budget planning, investment management, annual audit preparation. You will also administer personnel policies and practices including benefits, compensation and recruitment.
Position involves work directly related to the management and general business operations of Intraspect Group. Individual must operate independently, with minimal supervision.

DUTIES - Accounting
-
Maintain various accounting systems and processes.
-
Contribute ideas and innovations to improve upon existing systems, work processes and procedures affecting month-end financial close, account analysis preparation, and financial reporting.

Assist in prioritizing work and coordination of special projects or audits.
-
Create and distribute financial reports; interpret account information and reports for managers.

Support management through ad hoc data collecting, reporting, analysis and special projects.

Set up and maintain accounting and fiscal control records.
Review journal entries for accuracy and compliance with company policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Produce financial statements, revenue projections, cost and benefit analyses or other reports and review for accuracy.

Reconcile accounts or reviews reconciliations prepared by others.

DUTIES - Payroll & Benefits

Ensure bi-weekly payroll as well as employee benefits are accurate and processed in a timely manner.

Assure that employee personal leave, vacations, and comp time records are maintained accurately.

Distribute all personnel and benefit expenses through fund accounting.

Oversee benefits management procedures; periodically investigate additional and alternative employee benefits plans as needed.

Advise CEO on payroll and benefits issues.

DUTIES - Financial
-
Meet monthly with the company’s Chief Executive Officer on the financial condition of the company and recommend actions in areas of fund balances and investment management.

Accurately maintain company's financial records consistent with company GAAP principles.
-
Assist with annual budget and quarterly forecasts and updates; develop new program budgets; implement necessary financial controls.

Oversee monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts in preparation of month-end financial statements, including journal entries and special schedules.
Prepare Management Reports for CEO and EMT.

Prepare budget projections and financial reports for CEO and EMT; supervise preparation of financial summaries and statements.
Coordinate contract-reporting requirements with management staff and ensure reports are up-to-date.

Work with independent auditor and ensure accurate preparation of annual audit.

Maintain relationships with bankers, independent accountants, and investment advisors. Must have experience implementing, amending or creating compliance policies as necessary and monitoring the operation of such policies; conducting regulatory and compliance training for staff; and assisting agency examinations and audits.

DUTIES - Administration

Assist in development and monitoring of annual work plans to accomplish strategic plan.

Coordinate financial functions to ensure programs and staff have information to carry out organizational priorities and activities.

Maintain operations manual, outlining basic and essential procedures for administration.

Ensure internal controls are adequate and being followed.
Supervise creation, maintenance, and distribution of company-wide reports.

Oversee training and development of team members and make effective staffing decisions.
-
Provide leadership in establishing an environment that enables staff to acquire new skills, knowledge and abilities to assist them in achieving Intraspect Group goals and prepare them for career advancement.

Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO.

As with other managers, represent Intraspect Group at external meetings and act as Acting CEO when requested by the CEO.

QUALIFICATIONS - Required Experience
-
BA in Accounting or Finance. CPA or CMA preferred.
-
5+ years management experience with progressively more responsible fiscal, administrative, and supervisory duties.

Direct work experience with budgets, forecasting, financial analysis, and fund accounting.
-
Direct work experience with computerized accounting systems and spreadsheet applications.
-
Thorough understanding of relational and Access databases. Expertise with a variety of software systems, including MS Office, QuickBooks and Great Planes.
Knowledge of real estate, banking, and mortgage.
Thorough understanding of federal, state and local regulatory and compliance requirements required. -
