HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for employee relations, administration/compliance, compensation/benefits, Employee Stock Option Plan, recruiting, training, Human Resource Information Systems and management development.

You will be reporting directly to the company President and will contribute to Intraspect Group’s success by acting as a strategic business partner and advocate. As a Human Resource Manager you will also be expected to lead an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards and goal attainment.

SPECIFIC DUTIES - Staffing

  • Collaborates with department directors and administrators to determine optimal short and long-term staffing needs.

  • Ensures EEO, legal and company compliance.

  • Writes/updates job descriptions.

  • Oversees Recruiting; reviews resumes/applications; and conducts/coordinates interviews.

  • Performs or oversees reference checks.

  • Coordinates with temporary staffing agencies.

  • Compensation and Benefits.

  • Creates, updates and provides leadership in company’s salary administration program.

  • Salaried and hourly employee plan administration.

  • Notifies payroll of relevant changes in a timely manner.

  • Oversees claims of unemployment and worker’s compensation.

SPECIFIC DUTIES - Administration

  • Oversees the annual work performance review process and employee relations.

  • Assists department directors with planning for staffing; and develops Company HR structure to meet growth demands.

  • Researches and drafts policies and recommends policy changes to management.

  • Prepares and maintains policy and administrative manuals, including the Employee Handbook.

  • Writes employment contracts and agreements.

  • Builds employee retention systems.

  • Performance Metrics.

  • Reward and recognition systems.

  • Processes paperwork related to changes in employment status.

  • Administers leaves of absence.

  • Oversees the termination process.

  • Provides support for Management Team and for all levels of staff.

  • Chairs Employee Activities Committee.

  • Prepares and administers budget for Human Resources Department.

  • Oversees maintenance of personnel files.

  • Utilizes Diversity and Employer of Choice practices and initiatives within the company and its subsidiaries.

SPECIFIC DUTIES - Employee Relations

  • Counsels staff regarding policies and other employment matters.

  • Facilitates conflict resolution.

  • Oversees staff recognition and awards programs.

  • Ensures good communication between management and line staff.

  • Provides investigation and consultation support to managers addressing employee conduct and performance issues.

  • Maintains HR and Safety bulletin boards.

  • Conducts exit interviews, tracks & analyzes data and communicates results to appropriate staff.

  • May manage other Human Resource employees.

SPECIFIC DUTIES - Training & Development

  • Creates and develops training systems and provide training to employees (all staff training, leadership/management skills-building, retreats, etc.).

  • Continuously educates self on current employment regulations, human resources best practices.

  • Pursues continuing education in human resource systems, concepts and technologies to improve overall company efficiency.

  • Oversees orientation for new employees.

  • Actively initiates and contributes input on management-level decision-making discussions.

  • Defines key messages, content plans, schedules, and will own the successful delivery of same.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development.

  • Above average oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop Human Resources staff members.

  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a successful participant on the executive management team that provides company leadership and direction.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with the company Board of Directors.

  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and skills in database management and record keeping.

  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices.

  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs

  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

OTHER DETAILS

  • Supervisor - President

  • Work Hours - 8 hours daily, Monday through Friday or as necessary.

  • Location - Downtown Seattle office
